Since its first edition in 1980 in Bremen, Germany, Velo-city has chosen to stage several countries and cities around the world.

Lisbon's bid stood out from competitors Valencia and Ljubljana, in an unequivocal demonstration of the local and national commitment to bicycle mobility.

Influencing decision-makers in favor of more sustainable mobility, sharing knowledge and promoting the world of cycling are the main objectives of the conference.
