“Return to the dazzle” was the motto of this 42nd Meeting

The 42nd National Meeting of the Portuguese Association of General and Family Medicine (APMGF) took place between 26 and 29 March 2025, at the Conference Center of the Tróia Design Hotel. For four days, family doctors from all over the country gathered to explore and discuss essential topics in the practice of General and Family Medicine (FGM), from clinical and technical-scientific issues to socio-professional challenges.

The organization of the event was in charge of APMGF, with a central role of the secretary general, Nina Monteiro, who highlighted the importance of this meeting as a privileged space for the sharing of knowledge and the strengthening of the medical community. The program integrated moments of great relevance, including the opening and closing conferences, led by David Marçal and Catarina Oliveira. While the first addressed the most recent biomedical advances, the second reflected on the impact of diversity on the provision of health care.

With a participatory approach, APMGF challenged its members to actively contribute, giving them the possibility to design and present sessions at the meeting. This dynamic reinforced the inclusive and collaborative character of the event, consolidating it as an inescapable reference for FGM professionals in Portugal.
