Health Insurance Sustainability: Facing the Challenge of Rising Costs

This was one of the central themes of the most recent edition of the Congress of Portuguese Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SPOT). The event took place between the days November 6 and 9, 2024, not prestigious Algarve Congress Centre, in Vilamoura, and brought together the main national and international specialists in Orthopedics and Traumatology.

The Congress, carefully structured by SPOT, with the support of its various societies, sections, study groups and commissions, presented a broad program that included the participation of renowned international societies, such as the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons), SOFCOT(French Society of Orthopaedic and Traumatological Surgery) e (a) ESSKA-ESA(European Shoulder Associates Section). Among the main points of interest of the program was the demonstration with the MAKO robot, as well as the presence of symposia and workshops led by Industry, which brought a practical and innovative perspective on new technologies and products on the market. The “invited lectures” and clinical cases further enriched the event, providing a level of excellence and inspiration to the participants.
