The Journey to the “taste of wine” that gave #RestartTourism and #play in rural development

A 5th UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourismwas used from 8 to 10 September and the beautiful Alentejo landscape of Reguengos de Monsaraz was the chosen scenario.

With a view to promoting the role of wine tourism in a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future for remote rural communities, the 1st post-pandemic eventpromoted worldwide by World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) together about 890 participants, more than 30 speakers, 32 representatives of the international press and 12 more national media.

A Visit Portugal, orTourism of Alentejoe a Reguengos de Monsaraz City Counciluniram forces in the organization and “tasted even more the palate” of this meeting, where only sustainable materials were used and the local economy was bet on, with 75% of the partners being from local businesses. The program also includes 3 technical visits to renowned wineries in the area and another wine masterclass.
