The global meeting that defines the future of Geotechnical Engineering chose Lisbon for its 2024 edition

From August 26-30, 2024, or MEO Arena became the epicenter of ECSMGE 2024 (European Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering), a prestigious event that brought world-renowned companies and specialists in the field of Geotechnics to Lisbon. The local organization, in charge of Portuguese Society of Geotechnics (SPG), provided a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas and innovation in the sector.

Under the central theme “Challenges of Geotechnical Engineering to Meet Current and Emerging Society Needs”, the Conference attracted more than 1,200 participantsand promoted discussions on best practices, as well as the future challenges of Geotechnical Engineering and fundamental themes for the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).
